Hunters,
You may have seen that we are introducing a brand-new Player Profile system coming in Update 2.6! With your Player Profile you’ll be able to customize a title and avatar, stats that will appear on your profile, badges, frames, and more.
We are noticing a huge amount of interest about this new addition to Hunt, and of course a lot of you have questions about how it will all work.
We have added Player Profiles in order for you guys to display more of your identity, progression, and mastery in-game. This is something that we wanted to build upon within Hunt for a while, and this new feature means more bragging rights, new ways to customize, and a new way to be more creative in the game, which we love to see!
The majority of content for the Player Profiles are unlocked through gameplay progression, giving you something extra to work towards in-game (as well as new ways to show off to friends how far you have come). Other pieces of content can be unlocked via Blood Bonds, which means if there’s something that you really want, you can buy it then and there. Please bear in mind that progression content is exclusively accessible by meeting the in-game requirements and is not available to purchase via Blood Bonds.
With Update 2.6, you’ll be able to see your profile in the ‘Player Profile ’ screen as well as the ‘Match Found’ screen. The existing profile statistics screen and the extended statistic screens will still be there also. As this is the first rollout of the feature, we will be looking into refining how profiles are displayed in upcoming updates.
When looking at the customization options, you’ll notice that not all content in the game is covered (not all Hunters have avatars, the list of stat trackers is not exhaustive, etc.). This is due to some technical limitations and the general workload of creating these assets. Rest assured we will be working on adding tons of new elements as we progress, and will also carefully measure your feedback and see which ones to prioritize and add to the game in the future!
One of the major questions that came up when we first showed off this feature was if the stats would roll over or if players would have to start from scratch. We can confirm that most of the stat trackers will begin at zero from the launch of Update 2.6. This is down to the fact that only small amounts of historical data were available for very limited categories. We didn’t want some categories to be populated and others just starting at 2.6, so we took the decision to start over for fairness.
While we understand that veterans may be disappointed in not seeing their historical data, this does mean that every player can start on a level playing field with Update 2.6.
As for how you can earn Badges, the current Badge Tier unlock categories will be broken down into the following categories, with more categories being added at a later date:
- Primary Weapon families: Earn 2.5K / 5K / 7.5K / 10K / 20K / 30K / 40K / 50K / 60K / 75K XP with the specified weapon family
- Secondary Weapon families: Earn 1.5K / 3K / 5K / 7.5K / 10K / 15K / 20K / 25K / 30K / 50K XP with the specified weapon family (pistols & revolvers mainly)
- Groups of weapons: Earn 10K / 20K / 30K / 40K / 50K / 60K / 70K / 80K / 90K / 100K XP with any of the specified weapon families (Scope types, action types, etc.)
- Tools & Consumables: Earn 1.5K / 3K / 5K / 7.5K / 10K / 15K / 20K / 25K / 30K / 50K XP with the specified family
- Badge Tier XP requirements are the required number to progress from one Tier to the next – so, for example, at level Badge Tier 9, you'd need 75K weapon XP to get to Tier 10.
We are excited to launch this brand-new way of expressing yourselves in Hunt and hope you have as much fun designing your Player Profiles as we have had making them! We cannot wait to hear all of your ideas for future badges, stats, and avatars, so please leave ideas and feedback on our socials--we will be listening!
Mark your calendars for December 11th and get ready to get your stats rolling in Update 2.6!
