Hunters, our latest update is incoming, and it's huge! We've got new Basic and Advanced Tutorials to more quickly help you get hunting successfully in the bayou, new Questlines with rewards to offer, a new Wildcard Contract, and a range of community requested improvements, balancing changes, and bug fixes. Thanks to everyone for their feedback in helping us shape this update, and please feel free to let us know your thoughts on the various new features.
Let's take a look at some of the highlights in Update 1.12!
Brand New Scripted Tutorial
This update introduces a complete overhaul of our new-player onboarding experience. Hunters are now introduced to the unique gameplay of Bounty Hunt through two new Tutorials:
The Basic Tutorial explains Hunt's most important core elements, like controls, Dark Sight and Clues, gunplay, monsters, and more. John Victor, a veteran Hunter of the bayou, is voiced by Doug Cockle from The Witcher franchise and guides Hunters through a series of custom objectives. Upon first completion, Hunters will receive a Tier 1 Hunter, alongside the rewards earned during the Tutorial. New players will also receive three additional Hunters with predefined equipment and Traits in their Roster to help them take their first steps in the bayou. There will also be new tips on the loading screens—keep an eye out for them, as they will change depending on your level of experience in the bayou. Who knows, you might pick up a trick or two!
After completing the Basic Tutorial, you can continue playing the Advanced Tutorial (or access it separately later). In the Advanced Tutorial, Hunters will find a clue to locate a Boss Target, then fight and banish it. After Hunters retrieve their Bounty, they can leave with their prize.
Updating the Tutorial from our 1.0 release is a major milestone for the team. We are excited to finally offer new players a much richer and more detailed onboarding experience to help them enter the world of Hunt and become part of our growing family. We encourage existing players to look at the new Tutorials, tell us your thoughts, and help spread the word. Hunt is going strong, and the new Tutorials will go a long way in bringing more players into the game for all our benefit!

Combat Log Changes
The revised Damage History feature offers a better level of detail, allowing you to view events (both inbound and outbound) that occurred in the 90 seconds leading up to your demise. Inbound and outbound actions are clearly differentiated through different colors; inbound damage (damage received by the player) is shown in red, while outbound damage (damage done by the player) is shown in gray. Healing actions are shown in green. You are provided with specific information such as which body part was struck, the amount of damage inflicted, the source of the attack, distance from the player, and the type of event (e.g. deathblow or banishment).
Solo Player Improvements
This update adds additional solo-only conditional effects to select Traits to help those who dare to take on teams of Hunters alone in the bayou.
Not only does Necromancer's self-revive from Devil's Moon receive a comeback, but there are also several other Traits that give benefits to Hunters who go in solo. We are also slightly increasing the bonus for extracting with the Bounty as a solo player.
New Wildcard Contracts
We're testing out a new Wildcard Contract. If you select the Wildcard Contract in update 1.12, you will be taken to a separate queue of Hunters wanting to enter the bayou and play in the Night Time of Day.
New Lootable Saddles
We're bringing a new loot option to the world of Hunt! Lootable saddles are new additions that can be found on hitching posts or strapped to dying horses. These saddles can have a weapon holster and/or a saddle bag attached to them, allowing Hunters to get their hands on weapons, consumables, or Hunt Dollars.
There are various other updates coming in Update 1.12, including equipment screen reworks, audio, gameplay, and weapon changes, and various bug fixes. Also, the left-side peek advantage will be corrected. All the details can be found in the Patch Notes here.
We hope you enjoy this substantial update to Hunt. Please feel free to share your feedback on our usual channels!
See you in the bayou,
