Which personal data we process and for what purposes
In terms of Art. 4 No. 1 GDPR Personal data includes any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (“data subject"); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier, or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural, or social identity of that natural person.

Crytek may collect personal data as follows:
- Steam ID and Steam Player Name (PC)
- XUID and Gamertag (Xbox)
- SonyAccount ID, PlayStation™ Network ID (PlayStation™)
- Internal PlayerID
- IP address
- Game use, including all player actions, location on the game map during a game, gaming results, and information regarding your gaming account (e.g. hunter equipment, XP, purchases)
- Voice/Text Chat
- Device ID
- Twitch account (if linked)
- Hardware information (computer, hardware, software, platform, media, and mobile device)
- Anti-cheat controls (monitoring your computer, analyzing Hunt: Showdown 1896 binaries, and scanning the memory of the computer)
- Purchase Information/history
- Click-ID, Timestamp, Tracker information (from our marketing communications - if used)
We may also collect other non-personal information such as feature usage, game play statistics and scores, user rankings, and click paths.
To simplify this information, we group these data into a definition and name it “Personal Information". When we name the definition below, we refer to this group of data attributes.
Legal basis for data processing
Crytek uses your personal data to perform our contracts with you and Steam/Valve, Microsoft or Sony in terms of Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR.
Your personal data is used to improve the user experience and/or to improve the commercial success of Hunt:Showdown 1896 and therefore a legitimate interest in terms of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR.
Data processing in our Twitch Drops campaign is based on your consent (legal basis in accordance with GDPR Art. 6 (1) (a)).
Our purposes for data processing
Your Steam / Microsoft (Xbox) / Sony contract
Crytek uses your personal data to operate Hunt: Showdown 1896. Mostly the personal data mentioned above is necessary to perform our contracts with you and Steam/Valve, Microsoft or Sony in terms of Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR.
Crytek needs your Steam ID, XUID or SonyAccount ID in order to verify your purchase (and thus permissions to play) Hunt: Showdown 1896.
Internal Data use for to run and operate the game and improving the user experience and/or the commercial success
Your player data—such as in-game location or shots fired—is used to run the game. Additional in-game information is used to provide you with your match stats and generally maintain your player account.
Purchase information/ history is used for optimizing our promotion efforts and analysing the commercial success. This information also helps us to recreate your account in the case of a crash or error.
ClickID, Timestamp and other tracker information from our marketing communication e.g. at Meta and Google platforms is used for optimizing our promotion efforts and analysing the commercial success.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 provides the possibility to chat via text and/or voice between the players. This functionality is provided by Vivox/Unity Technologies, San Francisco, 30 3rd Street HQ, USA. To provide the service your IP address (Truncated), PlayerID and Device ID will be used. If you choose to use the chat function also your voice and text will be used.
Your IP address is used in order to establish a connection to the game servers.
Computer and other hardware specs are used by our development team to further optimize the game.
Usage of personal data to avoid cheating
Anti-cheat controls name above are provided by a third party (Easy Anti-Cheat/Epic Games) and are necessary to detect and prevent in-game cheating, which is forbidden by our terms and conditions. Therefore, the legal basis for the processing of this data is our contract in terms of Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR.
Twitch Drops
If you subscribe for our Twitch Drops campaign you will link your Steam//Microsoft/PS5® console account to your twitch account and you give your consent that we will process Twitch Drop item claims collected from Twitch in order to grant Twitch drop rewards. We will use this information in connection with you Steam/Xbox/PS4 account ID to provide you certain perks/rewards within the game itself. This data will not be used for any other purpose. You can unsubscribe from our Twitch Drops campaign anytime on this website https://huntshowdown.com/twitchdrops
Please note: If the Twitch Drops are activated, further data processing is carried out by the operator of the Twitch platform Amazon.com, Inc., 410 Terry Avenue North, Seattle, Washington, 98109, USA.
The recipients of Personal Data
We have already named the recipients of data processing in the description of the individual processing activities. Essentially, these are the internal offices at Crytek, but also service providers that we use.
Any service providers that come in contact with your personal data are required to comply with the same relevant data protection regulations.
Transfer of personal data to a third country or international organisation
Crytek is a global organization, and Hunt: Showdown 1896 is available to players all over the world and the data is stored and/or transmitted to several data centres worldwide. All data is encrypted and the respective hosting provider has no access to it.

In these cases, the scope of the transmitted data is always restricted to the necessary minimum. Any service providers that come in contact with your personal data are required to comply with the same relevant data protection regulations. As applicable, data transfers to a third country which data protection law are not considered as being adequate by the EU are subject to appropriate safeguards like EU-US Data privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long is your Personal Data stored?
As long as you own and can play Hunt: Showdown 1896 we will store your data.
For some data, for example, data that is collected on the basis of direct contracts, other statutory retention periods may apply, which Crytek must comply with.
YOUR RIGHTS
